Onfido can verify that the applicant has the right to work using the copies of documents provided.
Consider
The applicant may have the right to work, however, the employer must further check one of the following:
- Home Office letter / Certificate of Application
Client must use the home office employment checking service to receive a 'Positive Verification Notice' to establish an applicant's Right to Work (https://www.gov.uk/employee-immigration-employment-status) - Applicant Registration Cards (ARCs)

In case the applicants are Students, under Tier 2/Tier 5 Visas or have Job Role restrictions, the employer must further check the following:
Students Extra Checks
- University timetable for term and vacation dates
- BRP/Visa for hours permitted
Conditions:
- Term time: Part-time hours only (10 or 20 hours as displayed on their BRP/Visa)
- Vacations and from the date their course ended until the expiry date of BRP/Visa: Full time
Tier 2/Tier 5 Visas Extra Checks
- Certificate of Sponsorship
- Job Role
- Shortage Occupation List
Conditions:
- The job must be either the job role displayed on the Certificate of Sponsorship
- If for a second job (different from the job role displayed on their Certificate of Sponsorship), it must have up to 20 working hours per week and either be:

- the same industry/level as role on Certificate of Sponsorship
- a job role on the Shortage Occupation List

Job Role Restrictions Extra Checks
- BRP or Visa mention of wording such as:
- No Dr (No Doctor)
- No Den (No Dentist)
- No Sport (No Sportsperson)
- No Entertainer
Conditions:
- Applicant cannot work for a job role if the visa has these restrictions displayed
Consider (and the Right to Work breakdown is "Fail")
Onfido does not believe the applicant has the right to work in the UK. This may be due to one of the following:
- Documents supplied are suspected to be fraudulent
- VISA does not permit the applicant to work in the UK
- VISA restricts applicant from working in the job role
