Choosing the endpoint that matches your risk-based approach
We currently offer 5 Watchlist endpoints which you should choose to leverage based on your risk-based approach:
- Watchlist AML: returns matches against the 4 breakdowns (Sanctions, PEPs, Legal and Regulatory Warnings, and Adverse Media)
- Watchlist Enhanced: returns matches against the 4 breakdowns (Sanctions, PEPs, Monitored Lists, and Adverse Media)
- Watchlist Standard: returns matches against 3 breakdowns (Sanctions, PEPs and Legal and Regulatory Warnings)
- Watchlist PEPs Only: returns matches against PEPs only
- Watchlist Sanctions Only: returns matches against Sanctions only
Date of Birth
The only mandatory data input to create any Watchlist check is the First Name and Last Name. Submitting a Date of Birth with the name is optional but recommended to narrow the search.
More than one date of birth might be found per match due to the nature of the data sources, such as newspaper articles, which might include someone’s age but not their full date of birth.
If there is no Date of Birth associated with the matches found, the match will be returned.
Address
Submitting an Address with the name is also optional but recommended. This will narrow the search to the country specified in the address, for all PEPs and Adverse Media matches except Money Laundering and Terrorist related matches. This will not filter Sanction matches.
If a match is found with either Sanctions, Money Laundering or Terrorist related events, all the other events of that match will be returned, even if the other events are not related to the country specified in the address.
If there is no Address or Country associated with the matches found, the match will be returned.
Match Properties
We return the properties associated with each match found so that you can filter false positives. Those properties might include:
- Country/Address
- Dates of birth
- Source URLs
- Image URLs
